Outcome of the BDVA Online Activity Group Workshop on SRIDA update (July 10th)

On the 10th of July BDVA organised an Online Activity Group meeting aimed at discussing and brainstorming about new contents to be included in the next release of the Strategic Research Innovation and Deployment Agenda for the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership. 

More than 70 participants joined this event and attended the plenary and parallel sessions organised. The agenda was structured as follows:

9.15 - 10.15

Plenary session:

  • Introduction to the day and 
  • AI, Data and Robotics SRIDA update
  • Q&A on the SRIDA update process
  • Logistics of the parallel sessions
10.30 - 13.00

Parallel sessions on 1) AI, Data and Robotics Framework, 2) Innovation Ecosystem Enablers and 3) Cross-Sectorial Technology Enablers. Each parallel session had the same agenda: 

  • Introduction to the existing contents of the SRIDA
  • Pitches/presentations from Task Force leaders
  • Picthes/presentations from BDVA members
  • Presentation of written contributions from BDVA members
  • Pitches/presentations from BDV PPP projects
  • Open discussion and brainstorming about missing elements
  • Initial prioritisation exercise
13.00 - 13.30 Lunch break
13.00 - 15.00

  • Continuation of the morning discussions if not finished.

  • Presentation of the insights from the parallel sessions
  • Wrap up and next steps

For the parallel sessions, Mural whiteboards were used to enable brainstorming and support the initial prioritisation exercise. This allowed participants to post their ideas and to carry out voting in real time. 

The material produced will be used by the Data Deep Dive Editorial Team to draft the respective sections of the SRIDA and will be further enriched during summer thanks to the input received through additional consultation channels. A second and more advanced prioritisation exercise with BDVA members will be organised in September.
