BDVA Activity Group Meeting October 10 (AG29)

On October 10th 2018 BDVA organises its 29th Activity Group with members in Brussels. During the day the BDV PPP SRIA update consolidation workshop will take place and members will jointly discuss topics such as BDVA AI position paper, Next Generation Data Platforms, and BDV PPP and EuroHPC JU calls for 2019 and 2020. In the afternoon 2 parallel sessions will be organised: "Big Data and AI for Smart Governance in Public and Private sectors" and "Big Data, Data Protection and CyberSecurity (in collaboration with ECSO)". The sessions will be complemented with several pitching sessions, brokering and networking opportunities.

BDVe Webinar series

BDVe project is pleased to announce the first of a series of webinars related to data and AI driven technologies, tools, services and business, and the impact of them in the European landscape. The webinars will be around the development, results and success stories of the projects under the scope of the Big Data Value PPP. This serie aims to offer a shared space for communication and potential engagement for projects and other stakeholders in the Big Data and AI scenarios in Europe. Council adopted the regulation to establish the EuroHPC JU

On September 28, 2018, the Council of Ministers officially backed the Commission's plans to invest jointly with the Member States in building a world-class European supercomputing infrastructure. The Competitiveness Council adopted a Regulation to establish the European High Performance Computing (EuroHPC) Joint Undertaking – a new legal and funding structure, which will pool resources from 25 European countries, build supercomputing and data infrastructure, and support research and innovation in the field involving scientists, businesses and industry. 

CEN-CENELEC Stakeholder Workshop - Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence – building a framework with standardization

On September 18th 2018, CEN-CENELEC organised a one-day workshop to pinpoint how standardization will support the take-up of AI technologies. The discussion focused on how trustworthiness in AI can be built for both Consumers and Industry and how standards can help.

Data4AI workshop - September 19 - Brussels

Building on current European, cross-border, national and private initiatives, the Data4AI workshop focuses on identifying the main challenges ahead to develop the so-called European Data Space, essential for the development of AI, and to identify potential paths for the future. The Data4AI workshop is held on September 19 in Brussels and it is jointly organised by the European Commission (DG CNECT), the Big Data Value Association, and the euRobotics Association.
