The EUHubs4Data project officially kicked off !
On the first of September, the European Federation of Data Driven Innovation Hubs (EUHubs4Data) project officially started.
Funded under Horizon 2020 (DT-ICT-05-2020 call) and involving 21 partners from 12 countries, this project aims to become the European reference for data driven innovation and experimentation, fostering collaboration between data driven initiatives in Europe, federating solutions in a global common catalogue of data services, and sharing data in a cross-border and cross-sector basis.
Serving as reference to the establishment of the Common European Data Spaces, the project federation is initially composed of 12 DIHs, covering 10 countries and 12 different regions, and plans to increase the geographical coverage by incorporating other relevant initiatives in the upcoming months.
During the official kick off meeting (29th September - 1st of October), the European Commission explained to have high expectations towards this project which should bring together the Big Data community and act as a bridge between Horizon 2020 and the upcoming Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programmes.
BDVA has a pivotal role in EUHubs4Data, acting as Work Package leader for the establishment of the federation of DIHs and leading activities linked to community building and communication and dissemination. The project will last for 3 years and will contribute to the creation of the European Common Data Space.
