BDVA Vice President attending the Second European AI Alliance Assembly
On the 9th of October 2020, BDVA Vice President, Laure Le Bars, participated as guest speaker in the Second European AI Alliance Assembly which took place entirely online. The AI Alliance Assembly is a stakeholder event gathering key experts from business, academia and public sector and contributing to the European Commission’s policymaking process in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The first Assembly took place in June 2019 and more than 500 stakeholders participated in the debates. The 2020 edition also gathered hundreds of participants from all over Europe and focused on:
- The discussion of the results of consultation on the European Commission AI Whitepaper;
- The finalised deliverables of the High Level Expert Group on AI (AI HLEG);
- The future projections on the Alliance as a multi stakeholder forum.
BDVA Vice President joined the first session of the day titled "An ecosystem of excellence - Make it happen" and discussed with representatives from academia and from the public sector on how to build an AI ecosystem of excellence in Europe. The role that the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership should play in this context was emphasised by BDVA Vice President and other panelists. BDVA Vice President also highlighted the importance of building bridges between industry and academia through initiatives such as the Public Private Partnership.
