Big Data technologies and needs at Spanish level

The Spanish Big Data Initiative (coordinated by PLANETIC, the Spanish technological platform for the adoption and dissemination of ICT) has generated a whitepaper about the positioning of Big Data technologies and needs at national level. The document (only in Spanish so far) is available here

It shows the different stakeholders, application domains and technologies, both offered and demanded, at Spanish level, stating also the innovation by sector and its expected evolution in near future. This document is concluded by showing the official dat of big data projects presented in national calls.

The third round of Big Data Europe Project (BDE) Workshops is going on!
The next workshop scheduled will be held in Brussels on the 3rd October on the topic of Big Data in Secure Societies. The workshop will address a wide audience comprising key stakeholders, data users and service providers from a variety of domains in Secure Societies such as Space & Security and Cybersecurity. This is the last week to apply for the BDVA i-Spaces labelling call 2017! Do not miss this opportunity!   

Big Data Value Association grants a label for European Innovation Spaces (I-Spaces) to help drive forward Big Data adoption across all domains within European industry. European Innovation Spaces are cross-organisational and cross-sectorial environments allowing Big Data challenges to be addressed in an interdisciplinary way and serving as European hubs for research and innovation activities.


DataPitch - Applications for the 2017-2018 program close Oct 1st 12:00 CEST!!!

Data Pitch is an EU-funded open innovation programme bringing together corporate and public-sector organisations that have data with startups and SMEs that work with data. It is centred around a competition with several tracks which describe challenges, and a virtual accelerator programme (6 months) to help startups and SMEs develop solutions to meet these challenges.

The startups and SMEs will put forward proposals for creating high impact, innovative products and services in response to the challenges defined by Data Pitch.

There is still one month left for startups and SMEs to apply for Data Pitch. Applications can be made here until the closing date of 1st October 2017. Successful applicants will benefit from equity-free funding of up to £100k, as well as mentoring, legal advice and the chance to contribute towards creating a European data innovation ecosystem.
