Exploring H2020 opportunities in Big Data

BDVA supports the Big Data Spanish national initiative Planetic in the organisation of an informative conference next January 17th 2018 at CDTI (Centre for Industrial and Technological Development) headquarters in Madrid. The objective of the event is to discuss about the imminent call for proposals on various objectives relating to Big Data in European Commissions's H2020 program.

Information will be provided on the objectives of the calls, recommendations for winning proposals, elements to be taken into account, relevant actors, examples of winning proposals and inspiring arguments to achieve an important participation of companies and research organisations.

The European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA) is the premier European software architecture conference, providing researchers, practitioners and educators with a platform to present and discuss the most recent, innovative and significant findings and experiences in the field of software architecture research and practice. 

23rd BDVA Activity Group Meeting,13th-14th December - Brussels

The 23rd BDVA Activity Group Meeting has been held on the 13th and 14th of December in Brussels. 

Over 70 participants from BDVA Members discussed and brainstormed about key topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Platforms, Big Data Technologies, GDPR implementation, Data Privacy, Technology integration (Big Data, HPC, IoT), Mobility and Transport, Big Data in the GeoSpatial and Earth Observation domain. 

The next Activity Group meeting is scheduled on the 31st January (afternoon only) and 1st February 2018.

BDVA media partner of Computers, Privacy, Data Protection 2018

BDVA becomes part of the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition

The European Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition is a multi-stakeholder partnership involving Member States, companies, social partners, NGOs and educational establishments, to help meet the high demand for digital skills in Europe which are essential in today's digital society and economy. 
BDVA has officially become a member of the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition as per December 1st, 2017. 

FED4SAE open call: up to €60K funding, technical and business coaching available to support European companies to develop smart applications

FED4SAE project launched the 1st open call for application experiments. Up to 60K euros funding, technical and business coaching are available to support European Companies to develop smart applications. 

Updates in the BDVA management team

The Big Data Value Association celebrated its 12th General Assembly on November 23rd in Versailles during the European Big Data Value Forum 2017. Among other important topics, the BDVA members were called to elect some of the members of its Board of Directors, and to re-elect one of the Vice Presidents. 

We very much welcome Almudena Sanchez (GMV) and Walter Weigel (Huawei) as new appointed Directors of BDVA and we are glad to confirm the renewal of a 2-year mandate for Nozha Boujema (Inria) and Florin Serban (Terrasigna) as BDVA Directors.
