European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) 2021 will take place from the 29th of November to the 3rd of December. The European Commission and the AI, Data and Robotics Association (Adra) have signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the AI, Data and Robotics partnership. The partnership leverages 1.3B Eur of public investments through the Horizon Europe programme and 1.3B Eur of private investments in the period 2021-2030 to address the key challenges in European AI, Data and Robotics.
BDVA/DAIRO announces joining forces with Gaia-X, IDSA and 10 other leading European organisations with experience in standardising, creating, and operationalising data sharing. “Team Data Spaces” facilitates the development of European data spaces, which are at the heart of the EU’s data strategy.
The programme aims to accelerate the green transition and climate neutrality, support digital leadership and help the recovery from corona pandemic. The €4 billion boost for digitalisation aims to maximise the potential of digital tools and data-enabled research and innovation in a variety of fields.
The European Roundtable for Industry (ERT) report, published on 9th of June, finds that European enterprises has not yet capitalised the growing potential of business-to-business data sharing. ERT calls the EU policymakers to remove bottlenecks from the way of fluent data sharing and proposes number of actions to address the challenges.
On 14th of June, Commission adopted the public private partnerships for 2021 – 2030, including the European Partnership for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Robotics. The eleven partnerships aim to support the EU’s goals for the green and digital transition, supporting Commissions Europe’s Digital Decade strategy.

The CEN-CENELEC Joint Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence (JTC 21) was created on 1st of June to shape standardisation that ensures the development of trustworthy AI systems that respect fundamental values and human rights recognized in Europe. JTC 21 brings together 96 experts from 12 countries, nominated through their national standardization organisation and has a delegation from the European Commission.
JTC 21 produces standardisation deliverables in the field of AI and related use of data to address European market and societal needs. This work aims to advance EU legislation, policies, principles and values. The committee also considers the adoption of relevant international standards and standards from other relevant organisations.
