BDVA response to the public consultation on ethical and legal requirements for AI

BDVA welcomes the possibility to provide feedback to the Inception Impact Assessment concerning a Proposal for a legal act of the European Parliament and the Council laying down requirements for Artificial Intelligence. As already highlighted in BDVA response to the AI Whitepaper, BDVA strongly supports the development of a solid AI European approach based on European values.

Outcome of the BDVA Online Activity Group Workshop 38 on prioritisation of topics for the Data Deep Dive of the SRIDA (September 7th)

On the 7th of September, BDVA hold an online Activity Group meeting (AG38) which was entirely dedicated to prioritising amongst the topics to be included in the Data Deep Dive of the Strategic Research Innovation and Deployment Agenda. More than 70 participants joined the discussions and contributed to the prioritisation exercise.

Deadline extended to September the 6th for the consultation on the SRIDA for the upcoming AI, Data and Robotics Partnership

The deadline to respond to the public consultation on the Strategic Research Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) for the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership has been extended. Stakeholders have until the 6th of September to provide their input for establishing the right priorities in the context of the upcoming Partnership. 

The current SRIDA consultation version and the updated form to provide feedback can be found in the Resources area of the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership webpage. A FAQ document can also be found on the same site.

For those interested in providing feedback for the AI technology only, the survey on AI within the European Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, Data and Robotics is also open until the 6th of September.

BDVA response to the EOSC consultation on the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda

BDVA has prepared a response to the Open Consultation for the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, which closed on the 31st of August. BDVA response focuses on two key topics mentioned in EOSC SRIA and notably the question of European Data Spaces and the aspect of collaboration with the public and private sector.

BDVA invited to contribute to the Digital Around the World online conference 2020

Digital Around the World is a 24 hours non-stop virtual conference bringig together top-level speakers to discuss the latest trends in digital transformation. The event will take place online on the 20th-21st of October 2020. 

This year, BDVA has been asked to contribute to this major event. BDVA's President Thomas Hahn (Siemens) has  been invited to join the opening session taking place on the 20th of October and the association will organise a specific session to enrich the programme of the conference.

Call for Open Access Book Chapters on Technologies and Applications for Big Data Value

The BIG DATA VALUE eCOSYSTEM project has recently launched a call for Open Access Book Chapters for a forthcoming publication on "Technologies and Applications for Big Data"

Researchers and industry practitioners are invited to submit on or before September 18, 2020, a brief summary (abstract) consisting of a title and 150-200 words clearly identifying the main objectives of your contribution and how it fits within the edited book.
