New group on Data Sharing Spaces (TF1.SG7)

The BDVA Board of Directors (BDVA BoD) adopted last February 26th the mandate for a new subgroup under Task Force 1 (TF1) on Data Sharing Spaces (TF1.SG7). The formalisation of this existing activity into a subgroup under Task Force 1 will help centralise material, promote further participation to generate further input, and increase visibility of its activities and results outside the BDVA environment. The new Subgroup is led by Dr. Simon Scerri (Fraunhofer IAIS) and co-led by Dr. Irene López (Bluspecs) and Dr. Tuomo Tuikka (VTT).

EBDVF2020 will take place between Tuesday November 3rd and Thursday November 5th in the conference center KOSMOS in Berlin Karl-Marx-Allee. Save the date!! 

The European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) is the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the European Commission (DG CNECT). EBDVF 2020 in Berlin aims to continue the success of previous editions where on average we got around 1000 participants including industry professionals, business developers, researchers, and policymakers coming from over 40 countries.

BDVA at the Big-Data.AI Summit 2020

Mr. Thomas Hahn, Chief Expert Software at Siemens AG and President of BDVA, will contribute to the Big-Data.AI Summit 2020 with a presention focused on the topic "Boosting AI in Europe".

The Big-Data.AI Summit 2020 (#BAS20) is part of the business festival and it takes place on April 1-2 in Berlin. #BAS20 targets to welcome 10.000 attendees, combining executive leaders, experts, scientists, policy-makers and practisioners, interested in the Big Data and AI revolution. Mr. Hahn's presentation will take place on April 1st (14:00 to 16:00) in the "black area".

Declarative AI 2020: Rules, Reasoning, Decisions and Explanations

Welcome to Declarative AI 2020, an event co-organised by SINTEF AS, University of Oslo, and Norwegian University of Science and Technology, under the umbrella of the SIRIUS Centre for Scalable Data Access. Declarative AI 2020 will take place from 24 June - 1 July 2020 in Oslo (Norway). The event aims at presenting the latest advancements in AI and rules, reasoning, decisions, and explanations and their adoption in IT systems.

ECAI 2020 Workshop onTrustworthy AI: Challenges in Financial Technology. Call for papers

CITIC (University of Coruña), BDVA Full Member, organises the workshop "Trustworthy AI: challenges in Financial Technology (TrustFinTechAI)" as part of the 24th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI) that this year will take place on june at Santiago de Compostela. The Call for papers is open with a submission deadline of March 15.

BDVA Activity Group meeting (AG36): February 26-27 in Brussels

On February 26th and 27th 2020 BDVA organises its 36th Activity Group with members in Brussels. Several workshops and sessions will be organised to give progress to the development of the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership strategic agenda and roadmap, and other related key activities such as data sharing, data platforms, data governance, and the impact of Big Data and AI in different verticals. The workshops will be complemented with pitching sessions, brokering and networking opportunities.

BDVA at the "Copernicus and AI" workshop in Brussels

On January 28th 2020 the European Commission (DG DEFIS) organised the "Copernicus and Artificial Intelligence” workshop focused on EU programmes, as well as the challenges and opportunities of connecting Copernicus, its data assets and stakeholders to the digital world. BDVA was represented in this workshop by its Secretary General, Ms. Ana García Robles, who presented the upcoming AI, Data and Robotics Partnership
