On the 19th of July, the Commission started a European alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud. The alliance fosters the emergence of disruptive cloud and edge technologies that are highly secure, energy and resource-efficient and fully interoperable, fostering trust for cloud users across all sectors.
On 13 July, the Economic and Financial Affairs Council adopted the Council Regulation on establishing the new European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU). Combining investments of the participating states and the EuroHPC Private Members to funding from the Horizon Europe, Digital Europe and Connecting Europe Facility programmes, the total investment will be around €7 billion.

The European Commission and the AI, Data and Robotics Association (Adra) have signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the AI, Data and Robotics partnership. The partnership leverages 1.3B Eur of public investments through the Horizon Europe programme and 1.3B Eur of private investments in the period 2021-2030 to address the key challenges in European AI, Data and Robotics.
BDVA/DAIRO announces joining forces with Gaia-X, IDSA and 10 other leading European organisations with experience in standardising, creating, and operationalising data sharing. “Team Data Spaces” facilitates the development of European data spaces, which are at the heart of the EU’s data strategy.
The programme aims to accelerate the green transition and climate neutrality, support digital leadership and help the recovery from corona pandemic. The €4 billion boost for digitalisation aims to maximise the potential of digital tools and data-enabled research and innovation in a variety of fields.
The European Roundtable for Industry (ERT) report, published on 9th of June, finds that European enterprises has not yet capitalised the growing potential of business-to-business data sharing. ERT calls the EU policymakers to remove bottlenecks from the way of fluent data sharing and proposes number of actions to address the challenges.
