BDVA is proud to be part of the euroFMX consortium, consisting of 70 partners, which is spearheading European Generative AI in manufacturing. This is a 4-year project and has received a 45 million euro funding from the European Commission. Our community is looking forward to playing an active role in paving the way for trustworthy Generative AI and Autonomisation Frontier Models for Manufacturing.
BDVA, as one of the 3 private members of the EuroHPC JU, also a key actor in the European industrial AI ecosystem, collaborating with most of the AI Factories, a founding member of the AI, Data and Robotics Association (Adra), provides the ideal base for successful community engagement in reaching the euroFMX objectives.
Following a first public launch of the project on 25 July 2026, during the “Rethinking Manufacturing” event hosted by Assolombarda in Milan, the kick-off meeting took place on 26 July 2026, at the premises of Politecnico di Milano.
The project will help establish a unique European ecosystem of Trustworthy Generative AI in manufacturing, fostering competitiveness, resilience and technological sovereignty in the European manufacturing sector.
euroFMX comprises of industry leaders, technology providers, research, academia and innovation experts from across Europe, providing a well-rounded starting point for one of the most ambitious projects in Generative AI in Europe to date.
The project will develop and validate a new generation of AI solutions. By supporting 10 industrial pilots and practical manufacturing applications, it will support innovative trustworthy Generative AI solutions for smarter decision-making, operational efficiency, workforce enablement, and an accelerated transition toward more resilient and sustainable manufacturing ecosystems.
External stakeholders will be able to join euroFMX through a series of open calls, designed to engage SMEs, technology developers, startups, research and industry stakeholders alike in the development and deployment of innovative AI-powered manufacturing solutions.
BDVA is the task leader for building the ecosystem and raising awareness within the European data and AI ecosystem. As a key partner in the Data Spaces Support Centre 2 and leading the ecosystem management in the GenAI4EU Nexus project, we consider that this represents a great context for our community to provide real-world insights and foster constructive interaction with relevant stakeholders across the wider ecosystem.
