For two days, Poland’s capital became the global hub for data sharing as the Data Spaces Symposium (DSS) 2025 took place at the Warsaw Hilton Hotel from 11-12 March. The event attracted over 800 participants from 40 countries, uniting top innovators, industry pioneers and leading organisations to advance the data and AI ecosystem.
The symposium highlighted the readiness of data spaces technology for implementation, with discussions and presentations proving its transformative impact on AI and data-driven innovation. Participants convened to exchange knowledge and collaborate on advancing data-sharing frameworks, as presenters from around the world took the podium during the presentations, all marking a significant milestone in the evolution of data spaces on a global scale.
Organised by the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) and the Data Spaces Business Alliance (DSBA), DSS 2025 featured cutting-edge insights, market-ready solutions and strategic dialogues aimed at shaping the future of data spaces across industries and continents. The event solidified the economic potential of data spaces, reinforcing their role in enabling AI advancements and fostering international collaboration.
As a key DSBA partner alongside FIWARE, Gaia-X and the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and a leading consortium member of the DSSC, the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) played an integral role in shaping discussions and the future of the data and AI ecosystem in Europe and beyond.
The symposium’s extensive programme explored the profound impact of data and AI on businesses and society. Attendees, out which many were BDVA members, delved into market-ready use cases, cutting-edge technological solutions and insights into the European Data Strategy, with a particular focus on the DSSC’s role in growing European data spaces.
As a co-organiser and active participant, BDVA, alongside its members, contributed to various plenary and breakout sessions, addressing critical aspects of data value creation, AI-driven innovation and the transformation of the data economy. Emphasising international collaboration, these discussions tackled business, technical and innovation challenges, paving the way for future advancements.
BDVA also engaged directly with attendees through its dedicated booth, showcasing its commitment to fostering data and AI innovation.
