As part of its strategic vision to contribute to shaping the European data economy, BDVA has established a liaison with the recently created CEN CENELEC Joint Technical Committee JTC25 addressing the standardisation request from the European Commission to support the implementation of the Data Act.

With this, BDVA will continue the work it has done in the context of the CEN Trusted Data Transactions CWA, contributing with the knowledge of its members, projects and community at large, funneled through its dedicated Task Force on Standards and Benchmarking and Technical Board, to establish the foundations for data sharing in a trusted and valuable way and according to European values.

This new liaison complements BDVA’s existing one with CEN CENELEC JTC21 Artificial Intelligence, contributing to producing the harmonised standards to support the implementation of the AI Act.

With these two liaisons, BDVA reaffirms its commitment to standardisation as the means to ensure interoperability, scalability, sustainability and value for all stakeholders in the European data and AI ecosystems.
