BDVA Secretary General Ana García Robles will be taking a leave of absence from the association to pursue new and exciting career opportunities.

BDVA would like to express its sincere gratitude to Ana for her exceptional dedication and invaluable contribution to the growth and development of the association, as well as for the continuous support she has provided to its members over the years.

Closing an almost ten-year chapter is never easy. During her tenure as Secretary General, Ana played a pivotal role in shaping BDVA into one of the most influential organisations in the European data and artificial intelligence landscape. Under her leadership, our association experienced significant growth, expanding its membership from just over 160 organisations to more than 250 today.

Ana also helped position the European Big Data Value Forum as the flagship event for the European data and AI community. The forum has become a key gathering point for the continent’s data-driven research and innovation ecosystem, bringing together industry, academia, policymakers and innovators to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration and celebrate achievements in the field.

Throughout her time at BDVA, Ana represented the European data and AI ecosystem in numerous high-level meetings and policy discussions, consistently promoting and representing the interests of the association’s members and the wider community.

Her departure does not represent a goodbye, but a “see you later.” BDVA is very proud of her new fantastic opportunity that lies ahead and looks forward to hearing more about her further contribution to the data and AI ecosystem.
