It was good to see you – the BDVA community took Data Week 2022 to the next level
Data Week 2022 was wrapped up on the 8 and 9th of June in Naples, Italy. On the first day, keynotes were delivered by the European Commission, and local, industry and research representatives. After the sessions on Data for Trustworthy AI, challenges of SMEs in the data economy and the present cutting-edge approaches in data and AI technologies, the BDVA i-Spaces took the stage. The i-Spaces introduced themselves and highlighted the work done in the data-driven innovation hubs and the EUHub4Data Federation. In the evening, the community met at a local yacht club to enjoy Italian delicacies in a relaxed atmosphere.
The second day had a strong focus on Data Spaces giving perspectives to governance, regulation, standardisation and interoperability, and finding solutions to transforming research and innovation to market value. Keynote speakers and representatives of the local ecosystem shared with the European community the assets, plans and ambition to put the city and region at the forefront of data-driven innovation ecosystems. Special thanks to Meditech and Engineering as main partners in Naples for helping us organise these inspiring, insightful and fun days!
An online launch event kicked off the Data Week on the 24th of may with the theme “Towards an innovative, trusted and fair data economy”. During the three weeks, 9 BDVA i-Spaces organised local events and a total of 34 online sessions were organised by the community discussing the most relevant topics for the community. The content was delivered by over 250 speakers and over 1000 participants joined the event. The tracks of the event were:
- AI and Data challenges on specific sectors
- Digital twins in the computing continuum
- EUHubs4Data
- Data for Trustworthy AI
- Data Spaces
- Data and AI contributing to the European Green Deal
- Data and AI challenges - Data Pipelines
- Regulation, Standardisation, and Innovation - Data and AI governance
We want to thank all the session organisers, speakers and attendees. We are privileged to work with a community, whose hard work and enthusiasm push the European data and AI innovation forward! Special thanks to the EUHubs4data team, co-organiser of this event and our supporting partners CEA, Meditech, Engineering, and PSNC.
Most of the Data Week session recordings are published, but we are still processing some, including the Naples days sessions. We will upload and share them soon.
Now it is time for you to use all those contacts made and follow up with the ideas and collaborations which were planted during Data Week. We can hardly wait to see the resulting partnerships, projects and initiatives!
The work does not stop here – we are already planning next year’s Data Week and developing the concept to push the event even further. Do you have feedback or ideas? Do not hesitate to contact us at info@core.bdva.eu.
The next big BDVA event is the European Big Data Value Forum, which will be organised in Prague from the 21 to the 23 of November. But before that, there is plenty of other events where you can find us. See our events calendar for updates!
