WIIPRO 2025 – CITIC’s Week of Initiatives and International Projects
It is a pleasure for us to invite you to participate in the 2025 WIIPRO International Projects Week of CITIC, the ICT Research Center of the University of A Coruña, from November 17th to 21st.
WIIPRO 2025 is a 5-day event designed to bring up our mutual professional synergies via a not-so-orthodox, rather intense activity program (attached). By the end of the week we expect to have identified initiatives and project ideas in which the WIIPRO participants can integrate. To achieve the goal we will concentrate our efforts on some funding programs:
- Horizon Europe and Marie Curie
- Erasmus+ initiatives
- Interreg
- Other: MIT Seed Funds Program, COST and others

Expected outcome: WIIPRO is expected to contribute to the following outcomes:
- Increased opportunities for participating in international projects in the next year.
- More knowledge and innovative ideas.
- Enhanced networking and communication capacities.
Scope: WIIPRO involves individuals from organisations interested in international projects.Researchers, NGOs, project managers and assistants, consultants, industries… are welcome.
Expected impact: participants to this event should contribute to the following expected impacts:
- Increase international communication and collaboration.
- Foster the culture of cooperation on a win-win basis.
- Increase the entities’ attractiveness as partners for future collaborations.
Admissibility: all individuals from organisations interested in international projects are welcome.
Award criteria: there is a 30 international participants’ limit + 20 local / national participants. To make the most of the event, whole week participants will be prioritized, as well as diversity of entities and participation from other continents. Deadline for application is October the 10th.
Eligible costs: accommodation and subsistance costs are covered during the whole event.

- Do I need to be able to ride a bicycle? No, it is not necessary.
- Will I learn to ride a bicycle? If it is important for you, the WIIPRO team will work on that.
- I have participated in previous editions. Can I apply? Of course you can! Please do join us this year too.
- Do I have to stay the whole week? It would be ideal that you did. As the better results will show up by the end of the week after some hours of teamwork, we will prioritize participation of the persons who can stay during the whole week. If there are places available once this criteria is met, you will have the opportunity to cover one of those places and join for some days only.
- Can I arrive earlier than the 17th, and leave later than the 21st? Indeed, but please consider that the accommodation cost will not be covered by CITIC for those extra days.
- Our entity wishes to have more than one person participating. Can we be more than one participant per entity? We will prioritize diversity of entities in the event. If there are places available once this criteria is met, you will have the opportunity to cover one of those places.
- What’s the weather like in Coruña in November? Temperatures will be positive, ranging from 07-15 degrees Celsius, but please be prepared for rain and sun. Clothing in layers is rather useful in our region.
- Can I share this information with other entities? Certainly! Please feel free to spread the word.
- When will I know if I’m in? You will receive communication on October 17th. This is the schedule we’ll follow:
- Until October 10th: application
- October 17th: confirmed participants will receive communication and hotel room will be allocated. Participants in waiting list will also receive communication.
- Before October the 31st: we expect to receive your confirmed travel plan
- October the 31st: if no confirmation is received from your side, the place will be offered to the next applicant in the waiting list.
