This section provides an initial forward-looking perspective of emerging trends that could shape the future European and global Data and AI landscape. These topics are not intended to become immediate priorities of the Strategic Agenda, but rather to remain under observation so that BDVA can assess their relevance and potential impact as they mature.
The identification and assessment of emerging topics should be an ongoing activity within the BDVA community, supported in particular by the newly established BDVA Advisory Technical Committee. This process should help identify, assess, and prioritise new developments for potential inclusion in future iterations of the Strategic Agenda.
For the current agenda, the following areas provide an initial, non-exhaustive set of topics for monitoring. These areas should remain subject to continuous assessment as technologies mature, new opportunities emerge, and their potential relevance to European competitiveness, technological sovereignty, sustainability, and resilience becomes clearer.
