BDVA/DAIRO Activity Group meeting 46: three days packed with opportunities

The 46th Activity Group meeting (AG46) was organized from 27th to 29th of October. In addition to the open pitching session for our members, the three-day meeting included road mapping activities, workshops and presentations delivered by the European Commission.

The agenda was split to focus on particular topics of interest of our members. Wednesday the 27th started by TF7.Media workshop, open for all BDVA members interested in the Media sector. In the afternoon, representatives from the EC gave a presentation about the European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud, giving a possibility to ask questions about the initiative. Wednesday also includes two sessions informing the community about the activities on road mapping for WP2023-2024 and Data Spaces. 

On Thursday morning, the Commission presented the Data for EU in the Digital Europe Programme (DEP). Later on, focusing on finding synergies between 6G, Data and AI, the Hexa-X Project was presented by the project lead (Nokia). The presentation was followed by a pitching session, where many members took the opportunity to find collaborators and partners.

In the afternoon, a workshop on Industrial and Trustworthy AI was organized to shape the TF11. The workshop gathered expert views for setting a focus and objectives for the Task Force. It also aimed to identify potential topics and challenges ahead in the adoption of Industrial and Trustworthy AI. Also on Thursday, a working meeting was held to gather together the BDVA members interested in contributing to a new paper on Data Spaces Standardisation, promoted by TF6.SG6 and TF19.

The Friday morning was dedicated for a workshop on AI maturity tools. During the 2-hour session, organizations developing the AI maturity tools presented to the BDVA community. The session was relevant especially for the members interested in adoption of Industrial and Trustworthy AI.
