On November 27th 2019, the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the Networked European Software and Services Initiative (NESSI) have signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) in Brussels. This MoC expresses the intention of BDVA and NESSI to strengthen collaboration in the areas of Technology roadmap development
As customary during the last years, the Big Data Value Association announced during the European Big Data Value Forum 2019, in Helsinki, the name of the European initiatives that have been recognized as new i-Spaces in 2019, and become members of the BDVA i-Spaces group.
In a ceremony presented by Laure Le Bars (SAP, BDVA Vice-president) and Daniel Alonso (ITI, lead of BDVA i-Spaces group), representatives of the new five i-Spaces received the trophy that accredit them as relevant European Hubs for data driven innovation and experimentation. To be recognized as a BDVA i-Space, initiatives have to proof demonstrable value and quality in infrastructures and technologies, provided services, projects and applications, impact to their ecosystems, and a sustainable business strategy.
BDVA and euRobotics organise in collaboration with K4I a breakfast debate at the European Parliament on December 4th. The event is meant to connect different actors from the European Parliament, the European Commission, industry, research, start-ups and end users, and to make them aware of the opportunities that especially the combination of data, robotics, and AI technology offers to the digital transformation of industry and society.
On the 16th October 2019, the BDVA General Assembly officially welcomed 10 new members, among which there are 5 Full Members (AVL List GMbH, BluSpecs, IKERLAN, MicroSoft and TEKNIKER) and 5 Associate Members (Adquiver Media, ILVO, Inspur Germany, Sunlight.io Limited and University of Helsinky)
With the thematic topic “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Hubs - beyond 2020" the 3rd edition of the DEI Stakeholder Forum will take place in Madrid form the 13th to the 15th of November 2019. BDVA and BDVA members will be represented in several panels. Additionally the BDVA Smart Manufacturing Industry subgroup organises a side event to the Forum focused on "Industrial Data Sharing Spaces for Autonomous Factories in 2025: Opportunities and challenges".
In the context of the DEI Stakeholder Forum 2019 (Madrid, November 13-15) BDVA organises a side event with the theme "Industrial Data Sharing Spaces for Autonomous Factories in 2025: Opportunities and challenges". This workshop will take place on Friday November 15th at 10:00 am.
BDVA TF6.SG4 in collaboration with the BDVe project has released a position paper called "Data Protection in the era of Artificial Intelligence: Trends existing solutions and recommendations for privacy-preserving technologies".
The paper summarises recent trends in the development of tools and technologies that facilitate secure and trustworthy data analytics and it provides recommendations based on the insights and outcomes of the projects of the BDV cPPP and from the task forces of BDVA, combined with insights from recent debates and the literature. The Artificial Intelligence and Automotive Industry conference that was held on 18th October was organised by Pannon Business Network Association - AmLab Digital Innovation Hub (PBN) within the Automotive Hungary exhibition. The event attracted a full house with some 200 registered delegates traveling from around Hungary and abroad to attend. Pannon Business Network Association - AmLab Digital Innovation Hub (PBN) is a FULL member of BDVA.
