The "Digitalization of Knowledge and Industrial Technologies - Towards Horizon Europe" event, organized by the University of Bologna, is a unique opportunity aimed to present a mutli-discliplinary perspective to one of the most important topic that will shape our future. Within an agenda divided in three round tables, VISION, IMPLEMENTATION and FUTURE SOCIETIES, nine international speakers will debate involving the public about the philosophical nature of our knowledge and the ways to express and exploit it through digital sciences to improve industrial technologies.
The European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) is the annual central event of the European Big Data and AI communities. This year it will take place on October 14-16 in Helsinki (see http://ebdvf.eu ). EBDVF 19 is organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) in collaboration with the European Commission and VTT as the local organizer. The event is an official side event of the Finnish EU presidency.
Highly distinguished speakers will give their views on the transformative power of AI and Big Data. As an example, in a high-level panel, industrial and research top leaders will discuss the topic ”Does Europe have a Future in AI? “
BDVA, the Big Data Value Association and euRobotics, the European Robotics Association, publish today, September 18th 2019, an updated version of the Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) for a European AI, Data and Robotics PPP.
The second consultation release incorporates a new chapter focused on collaborations with multiple stakeholders and in particular on the so called Horizontal Collaborations. It also incorporates important aspects of the collaboration with the AI Research Communities, EU funded projects and initiativesand EC policies.
BDVA and the Big Data Value PPP will be present with its own booth in the ICT Proposers Day 2019. The event, organised by the European Commision in Helsinki from 19 to 20 September, will provide an excellent opportunity to present and discuss the main policy drivers of the digital transformation of European industry and society and how the EU research and innovation agenda can best contribute to these objectives.
On October 2nd 2019 BDVA organises its 34th Activity Group with members in Brussels. Next to the Activty group meeting the Technical committee of the PPP will take place. During the day there will be workshop giving progress on the AI-PPP SRIDA among other topics. The sessions will be complemented with several pitching sessions, brokering and networking opportunities.
The BigMedilytics project will organize the event “Big Data: Fueling the transformation of Europe’s Healthcare Sector” on the 4th and 5th of September in the Polytechnic City of Innovation in Valencia (Spain). The highly interactive programme will involve representatives of the European Commission, other EU funded projects, and organisations covering the key players in the healthcare sector from across Europe.
European Big Data Value Forum 2019 is approaching fast (14-16 October, Helsinki), and the organization is working hard to present the best possible program: Roberto Viola (Director General, DG Connect) and Dr. Carl-Christian Buhr (Deputy Head of Cabinet of Commissioner M. Gabriel) from the European Commission, Risto Siilasmaa (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nokia), and Norbert Gaus (Executive Vice-President of Siemens) are among the already confirmed speakers, but the program is in continuous update. The project INFINITECH has received EUR 16 million from the EU programme Horizon 2020 to establish a reference architecture that will support organisations from the financial and insurance sector in their innovation process driven by Big Data, AI and IoT. With a strong impact on the European digital financial ecosystem, the partners will involve stakeholders from all 28 EU countries, making INFINITECH a synonym for Big Data/AI's disruptive innovation. GFT Italy, a subsidiary of GFT Technologies SE and BDVA members, is the coordinator of INFINITECH.
The Big Policy Canvas project proposes a roadmap to define research and innovation directions for the public sector to tackle societal challenges through new data-driven policy making approaches. The European Commission has opened a consultation on the orientation of the first two years of its proposed seven-year Digital Europe programme. The inputs received will help the Commission to shape the work programmes and calls for proposals for the programme’s first two years (2021-2022). The consultation will close on 25 October.
