The Big Data Value Association held its General Assembly on 27th June 2019, in Riga, Latvia in the context of the Big Data Value PPP Summit event. As part of the meeting, the BDVA members were called to elect 5 Directors for a new or renewed 2-year mandate, and to appoint a BDVA Vice-President.
The European Commission has launched during the AI Alliance Assembly event the pilot phase of the Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI.The HLEG on AI has also released on June 26th its second deliverable called "Policy and Investment Recommendations for Trustworthy AI" with a list of 33 recommendations.
The first AI Alliance Assembly took place on June 26th in Brussels and counted with the presence of Mr. Thomas Hahn, Siemens and BDVA president, as a panelist.
Strong collaboration between the IoT and the Big Data/AI communities is needed to strengthen competitiveness of Industry in Europe, and to bring value from new technologies to business and society. The European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking - EuroHPC has selected 8 sites for supercomputing centres located in 8 different Member States to host the new high-performance computing machines. The hosting sites will be located in Sofia (Bulgaria), Ostrava (Czechia), Kajaani (Finland), Bologna (Italy), Bissen (Luxembourg), Minho (Portugal), Maribor (Slovenia), and Barcelona (Spain).
Joining Forces to Boost AI adoption in Europe: BDVA, the Big Data Value Association and euRobotics, the European Robotics Association, publish today a joint Strategic Agenda for a European AI PPP.
Europe has a strong and growing economy in the areas of robotics and big data. Integrated value chains together with a combination of key enabling technologies gives AI the power to transform the economy as well as the society, to preserve European values while taking advantage of technological developments demands a responsible use of AI.
The Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the European Robotics Association (euRobotics) are publishing an initial version of a joint Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for an AI partnership in Europe on the 6th June in Brussels.
The European Commission and the DIHNET Coordination and Support Action are organising the seventh meeting of the working group on Digital Innovation Hubs, that will take place on 1st July 2019 in Brussels.
The third BDVA Activity Group meeting of 2019 took place on16th May 2019 in Brussels and it welcomed 50 members of BDVA. The meeting covered topics such as AI-PPP SRIA challenges along the AI Value Chain, European AI-framework, AI Ecosystem enablers and H2020 Working programme.
