The Digital Day, the digital part of the official celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. takes place on Thursday, 23 March 2017 in Rome.
The Digital Day will explore the exponentially increasing role of what digital means for Europeans. The event will reinforce cooperation between public and private stakeholders in the field to improve the daily lives of Europeans and strengthen our economy. It will focus on how the European Union can make the most of digital innovations across society and the economy.
The event brings together Ministers, high-level representatives and key stakeholders and it is organised around 4 different topics addressing industrial competitiveness and societal challenges:
Supercomputers, connected and automated mobility, Digitising European industry, and impact of digital transformation in jobs and skills.
BDVA will be present at the Digital Day and represented by Laure Le Bars (President, SAP), Thomas Hahn (Vice-President, Siemens) and Ana García Robles (Secretary General).
To drive the debate before and during the event Vice-President Andrus Ansip has published 2 blogs about supercomputers and jobs in the digital age and DG Connect Director General Roberto Viola has published a joint blogpost on Supercomputers, mobility, industry and skills.

The event is organised by the European Commission and the Republic of Italy, in collaboration with the Maltese Presidency of the European Union and will look at topics that impact the near and long term future of EU citizens.
